Attendees will learn:

  • Which electrical manufacturers and electrical distributors will be the most active players in the merger & acquisition game down the road.
  • Why global manufacturers and distributors have moved so quickly into the North American electrical market and where they might expand next.
  • The new marketing channels that will provide the most competition for full-line electrical distributors.
  • How to harness trends in mobile communications and use tablets and smartphones to market their companies.
  • Emerging markets that will offer the best sales opportunities in the future.

Who do you see becoming the dominant electrical distributor? Thanks!

on Aug 26, 2014

Hi James, Thanks for your comment. I don't really see one company being dominant in every regional market, and in every product or market niche. But there are definitely companies that are or could become dominant in specific niches
I would say that about Grainger in MRO or with end users who like to place most of their orders online.
WESCO has a strong utility and national account focus, but I wouldn't say they are dominant in ether. Several of Sonepar's operating companies appear to be best-in-class in their regional markets (Viking and OneSource come to mind), but I wouldn't say the company is dominant overall.

I've heard that Sonepar may be interested in the acquisition of
another large electrical wholesaler in the UK. Is this happening or happened?
