Columbia Electric Supply Inc., based in Brockton, Mass., announced plans to open its fourth location, an 8,300 square foot storefront in Boston. Build-out of the new facility on Dorchester Ave. near Andrew Square is underway, with an expected grand opening in August.

The facility will help the growing distributor expand its territory and provide greater service to its growing number of Boston area clients, says Geoff Murphy, president. “We have seen a significant increase in business from the Boston area, and this location provides us the opportunity to provide better and quicker service to our growing Boston clientele as well as the chance to work with world class manufacturers in this city,” he says.

Murphy says the Boston location will open with a staff of eight people, with more to be added soon after it opens.

This is the second new location that Columbia Electric has opened in 2007. Columbia Electric may add as many as three new locations over the next two years, Murphy says.
