After receiving input from over 50 industry participants, Channel Marketing Group, Raleigh, N.C.,. announced a conference agenda for the Electrical Industry Marketing Conference (EIMC) that addresses the industry’s most pressing strategic issues. The EIMC will be held Aug. 7-9 in Chicago. The conference has the support of over 30 industry manufacturers and service providers.

According to Neil Gillespie, principal, Channel Marketing Group, “We heard from many people in the industry and distilled their key issues into these four:

How to accelerate new product and service development; How to create stronger channel partner cooperation; How to develop stronger execution planning with channel partners; Stronger follow up and results measurement.

Most emphasized “measurable execution,” focusing on the latter two. To achieve targeted results, however, distributors, reps and manufacturers first need to develop and ensure performance of the same musical score by all players. That score reflects the complete role of marketing: to direct the organization on how to profitably serve customers with leading value. This can come from senior management with a marketing mentality or a senior marketing manager.

The EIMC will provide a venue for the industry to learn how to develop and execute a strategy based on respect and understanding of the end customer as well as manufacturer, distributor and rep objectives. The speakers for this conference are thought-leaders in their respective fields and have been carefully chosen to reflect this philosophy.
