A local congressman, the town supervisor and Buffalo, N.Y.-area business partners recently helped electric-motor distributor K.J. Electric break ground on the $1.3 million expansion of its existing facility in Tonawanda, N.Y.

K.J. Electric plans to triple the physical size of the facility and staff to augment the company's existing distribution warehouse and to add a new state-of-the-art, on-site motor rewind/balancing/repair shop.

Founded in a 1981, K.J. Electric is a distributor of electric motors, drives, controls and power-transmission products with motor-repair and industrial-control-panel-fabrication capabilities. Headquartered in Syracuse, N.Y., the distributor also has stocking branches in Albany, N.Y.; Binghamton, N.Y.; Buffalo, N.Y.; and Rochester, N.Y.
