Nineteen projects from 11 countries were the winners of the 26th Annual International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) International Lighting Design Awards given at a presentation held May 6 in New York. Of the 19 projects recognized, three entries earned Special Citations, 13 earned Awards of Merit and three earned Awards of Excellence. The highest point score winner across all categories, in addition to receiving an Award of Excellence for their project, receives recognition as The Radiance Award Winner — acknowledgement as the highest achievement in lighting design award honors. Winner of this year's award was the design team of Mark Major, James Newton and Clementine Rodgers from Speirs & Major Associates, London, for their entrance and atrium lighting design for a London office building. The firm also received this honor in 2008.
