Border States Electric (BSE), Fargo, N.D., was presented with two STAR awards from We Energies at the utility's annual Supplier Appreciation Award Ceremony held March 29 in Pewaukee, Wis. This award is given to suppliers in recognition of outstanding performance in the five points of We Energies' Star of Excellence: customer satisfaction, cost reduction, safety, innovation and supplier and workforce diversity. BSE was recognized for outstanding performance in emergency response support and cost savings.

“When the savings goal was set in early 2011, Border States Electric challenged themselves to exceed the target goal. They surpassed that goal, and they maintain a continuous focus on reducing costs. Border States Electric also is relied upon to be an efficient alliance partner who can assist in emergencies and improve upon the services we provide to our customers. To address emergency situations, Border States Electric proactively monitors the weather and places orders with key suppliers prior to the onset of any storms,” said Gail Deveau, director of supply chain for We Energies.
