Training provider Delmar, Clifton Park, N.Y., part of Cengage Learning, and toolmaker Dewalt announced the release of the DEWALT Contractor's Exam Preparation (CEP) portal, a new online resource with web-based courses to help construction professionals prepare for licensing and certification exams.

The portal provides professionals working in the areas of building, electrical, plumbing or heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) with the resources to prepare for a licensing exam. Subscribers will have online access to test preparation and remediation materials that help to raise the probability of passing a licensing test on the first attempt. The CEP portal contains practice tests with hundreds of sample questions for each topic area, immediate grading with answer keys, a timer to monitor how long it takes to complete the test, study tips and code references for applicable questions.

“We are excited to introduce a new, more convenient way for students to access our Dewalt exam preparation materials,” said Greg Clayton, vice president, Delmar. “Once a tradesman has completed all schooling and training in the field, the licensing exam is essentially the ‘final step’ of the process. We want to make the preparation for this important step as effective and accessible as possible. Those studying for their exam will now have instant access to practice tests and related references, all through a simple internet connection.”

The preparation materials within the portal will be offered for under $50 each, with a Business & Project Management Course also available for $20. The materials will prepare professionals for exams in several areas, including:

Building

Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Remodeling & Repair, Home Improvement and ICC Certification

Electrical

Journeyman, Contractor, Master, Maintenance, Residential and Signs

Business & Project Management

Business Planning, Estimating, Jobsite Safety, Licensing, Tax Laws, Contract Management, Financial Management, Labor Management, Risk Management, Lien Laws and Business Calculations
