Ideal Industries Inc., Sycamore, Ill., is giving America's most accomplished information transport systems (ITS) installers the opportunity to use its equipment when showcasing their skills at the BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge. Ideal agreed to donate more than $3,400 in testers, hand tools and supplies for the event held last month at the 2008 BICSI Spring Conference in Nashville, Tenn.

The BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge pits teams of contractors against one another to test such skills as cable terminating, assembly, troubleshooting, support and overall professionalism, as they compete for the title of Installer of the Year.

Donated items from Ideal include OmniSeal Pro XL compression tools, coax and UTP strippers, VDV Multimedia testers, Tuff-Grip fish tapes, Ratch-A-Nut screwdrivers, connectors and various punch-down tools.
