More than 1,100 people gathered to share ideas, plot growth strategies, learn about new products and network with other electrical distributors and suppliers from across the country at Showcase 2008, IMARK Group's annual trade show and marketing conference held last month at Chicago's Hyatt Regency O'Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

“Despite the gloomy economic news that continues to come out, we had record attendance,” says Bob Smith, president and CEO of IMARK Group. “I think it's a tribute to the membership that they continue to send their key people here to meet with key suppliers to figure out how they're going to overcome the downturn in the economy. That, to me, is the most impressive thing about the show.”

Three companies received Product Select Awards at Showcase 2008. Arlington Industries, Scranton, Pa., was selected for its Fixture Box Kit. Rayovac, a division of Atlanta-based Spectrum Brands, was honored for its Sportsman Xtreme LED Flashlight. Thomas & Betts, Memphis, Tenn., was chosen for its Ty-Rap cable ties.

The awards were based on the evaluations of hundreds of Imark members who attended the trade show booths and rated products and services based on perceived value to their companies and their customers.
