ESSCO Goes to Tucson
ESSCO, Phoenix, opened a new location in Tucson, Ariz., earlier this year. The new 15,000-square-foot facility, led by Jeff Lanik,, branch manager, gives ESSCO nine locations in Arizona, with five more in California.
“The Tucson branch has 11 people with 180 years of distribution experience. Experience doesn't mean anything unless we can deliver it to the customer,” says Ralph Lanik, Southwest regional manager. “We will deliver this experience to our customers. Try our Tucson branch; you will be glad you did.”
CLS Opens in Annapolis
Capital Lighting & Supply (CLS), a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently for its new Annapolis branch, which opened in March. On hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon was Annapolis mayor Ellen Moyer, along with John Hardy, president and CEO of CLS.
“Annapolis has a vibrant economy and is a great community” says Hardy. “It has been on our list for expansion for a long time and we are excited to finally open our branch. We believe that the combination of our quality products, excellent service levels and the exceptional expertise of our people will not only ensure our success but will also have a positive effect on the community.”
The new 11,000-square-foot branch is the first CLS location to open in Maryland's Anne Arundel County. It is also the company's 21st location in their Maryland and Virginia footprint.

Crawford Expands to Help New Orleans
Crawford Electric Supply, Dallas, a subsidiary of Sonepar USA, opened a new branch in New Orleans in February. The main focus of the branch is to help with the rebuilding efforts in New Orleans by providing local commercial and residential markets with quality service and competitive prices.
The facility boasts a 48,000-square-foot warehouse with a full-service counter area that has the ability to handle any and all sizes of pipe, wire, lighting, and other electrical products. The New Orleans branch will stock $3 million to $4 million in inventory including GE distribution equipment, Lithonia, Pass and Seymour, Crouse Hinds, Ideal, and many other manufacturers.

Standard Electric Expands in Rockford
Standard Electric Supply Co., Milwaukee, continues to grow in northern Illinois with the opening of its new facility in Machesney Park. Standard Electric has served the Rockford market since 2004, but recently completed construction on a 7,500-square-foot building.
The expansion in the Rockford market is part of Standard Electric's ongoing effort to provide unparalleled customer service. This new facility will provide greater inventory and more training opportunities to customers. The facility has a 5,000-square-foot warehouse and a state-of-the-art training center.
Electrical Distributors Goes to Los Banos
Electrical Distributors Co., San Jose, has opened a new satellite branch in Los Banos, Calif. The company is starting with an interim site on West G St. while a state-of-the-art counter and warehouse facility is being built just a block-and-a-half away. The new facility, planned for completion in late 2008 or early 2009, will offer local stock with next day service out of the San Jose and Gilroy warehouses.
Scott Lehmann, Electrical Distributors president, did not want to wait for the final facility to be completed; he wanted a foothold in the expanding Los Banos market and to start servicing the customers ASAP. Joe Alonso, who was transferred from the Gilroy operation, will manage the warehouse. Antonio Diaz will head up counter sales and Jason Marci will oversee the operation. Both transferred from the Monterey branch.
