Euro Marketing + Research (EMR), Waiblingen, Germany, has introduced a database program called “Electro-Match” for efficiently identifying electrical sales representatives globally. Via a website at www.electro-match.com, industrial companies are brought together methodically with selected sales partners all over the world, according to Wolfgang Jauch, managing director of EMR, who developed the new service.
The site offers a database of over 5,000 agencies in 135 countries in North and South America, Europe, the Mideast, Africa and Asia, giving not only contact information, but also evaluative comments, data on the sales agencies and their track records, plus further information based on EMR's experience in the electrical industry and its international research in the development of this program.
“This information platform, I believe, may be regarded as unique,” says Jauch. “There is probably not one manufacturer in the electrical industry who can still afford to be content with a presence confined to his own domestic market. But the path to an efficient foreign sales structure too often involves a lot of difficulties and can involve several frustrating initial attempts before the right connections are made.”
Based on user-selected criteria, EMR provides an initial list, which does not contain company names, but only basic information about the sales agency in question. The elimination of competitive issues and other relevant factors are taken into account in the process. After a preliminary selection the interested party can then contract to obtain individual addresses, or a group within a category, from EMR in order to establish direct contact with the agencies.
