Ralph Pill Electric Supply, Canton, Mass., a division of NorthEast Electrical Distributors and Sonepar USA, announced that Sutherland Electric, an electrical contractor based in Keene, N.H., was the winner of its 2008 NASCAR Deck-Lid Promotion. Sutherland Electric's prize was an unusual branding opportunity — advertising space on the trunk deck lid of the Siemens No. 19 race car, which competed at the New Hampshire International Speedway in the Sylvania 300 on Sept. 14.
As winner of the Ralph Pill contest, Sutherland Electric received a number of other prizes, including VIP seats to the Sylvania 300, a tour of the Pit at New Hampshire International Speedway, a photo opportunity with the Siemens No. 19 car and driver Elliot Sadler, and additional racing memorabilia.
“It was a great experience having our company logo on a NSCS car,” says Dave Sutherland, owner of Sutherland Electric. “Everything from the hospitality tent to the garage tour to meeting Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler — the whole event was an experience of a lifetime.”
Over 100 contractors from 33 NorthEast Electrical Distributors and Ralph Pill Electric Supply locations throughout New England participated in the Siemens Deck Lid promotion, which ran throughout the month of July. Each contractor was assigned an individual driver number, and was given a purchase bogey to qualify for the race. Sutherland Electric, a customer of Ralph Pill's Nashua, N.H., branch crossed the finish line to win the Grand Prize.
“I buy from Ralph Pill in Nashua because their staff is extremely knowledgeable and very customer-friendly,” Sutherland says. Stock is always available for next-day delivery, with very competitive prices.
The second and third place finishers, Minor Electric of Stratham, N.H., and Rice & Brouillard of Haverhill, Mass., each won a set of general admission tickets to the Sylvania 300.
