Summit Electric Supply, Albuquerque, N.M., celebrated the opening of its new 10,000-square-foot location at 1143 Siler Park Lane in Santa Fe, N.M., with a “Red or Green ATV Giveaway” grand opening event that drew 200 participants, including about 50 electrical manufacturers who displayed and demonstrated new products. The event featured remote-controlled car races, a Mexican buffet, and more than 20 door prizes — but the main attraction was the ATV giveaway. Peggy Lee Martinez of Don Gorman Electric won the 2011 Kawasaki 250 Bayou ATV.

Summit combined a company event with a silent auction that benefitted the New Mexico Chapter of the American Red Cross. More than $1,500 was raised in three hours for disaster relief efforts, such as those for the recent Las Conchas fire. An extensive remodeling of the new location, completed in May, provided expanded inventory space and service capabilities. Summit has operated in Santa Fe since 1992.
