Power Resistor Companies Merge

July 1, 2005
IPC Power Resistors and Post Glover Resistors, two of the largest domestic players in the power resistor market, have merged to form Post Glover IPC Resistors.

IPC Power Resistors and Post Glover Resistors, two of the largest domestic players in the power resistor market, have merged to form Post Glover IPC Resistors. The new company will be located in Erlanger, Ky. The move combines the product lines of the two businesses — IPC's lower power wound resistors and Post Glover's higher power grid resistors.

“Merging allows resources to be shared across several product lines and territories, further strengthening all our market positions,” said Richard Field, president of the newly merged company, and previously president of IPC. “The goal is to create a single source for all power resistor requirements, a company that will set the pace in our chosen markets.”

The integration of the companies' two manufacturing facilities was completed in May. The combined engineering and sales teams have been working together since then.
