Job Description
This position is responsible for the design and coordination of electrical systems for building, renovations, construction projects, mechanical equipment replacements and additions; serve as a consultant to the utility operating staff on upgrades and maintenance of the campus electrical distribution systems. The incumbent will also review electrical plans, specifications, shop submittals and equipment for new installations and assist in the design, procurement and maintenance of the University communications systems. Additional accountabilities include preparing cost opinions of projects, obtaining approximate costs & preparing requisitions for purchasing, testing electrical distributions equipment, assimilating data for budget submittals and communicating recommendations for plant upgrades, replacement and additions. Will also assist in the development of University electrical design standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required, with a minimum of three (3) years experience in institutional, commercial and residential electrical systems. An Indiana professional engineer (PE) license is also required. Experience in arc flash software, Microsoft Office, CADD, Excel and lighting design & generator sizing software. Use of high voltage cable testing equipment, Hilti measuring device and knowledge of building code applications is preferred.
