On June 8, a minor league baseball team the Reading Phillies (AA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies), hosted a “Go Green” Night for their game against the Trenton Thunder. Fromm Electric Supply, Reading, Pa., sponsored this event and supplied the players with exclusive MLB approved green jerseys for the special night. Along with Lutron and Sylvania, Fromm used the evening to promote energy efficiency to the 7,000-plus fans in attendance, including more than 200 customers that Fromm invited. Commercials on the video scoreboard, public address announcements, and a radio interview during the play-by-play were just some of the methods used to deliver the “Go-Green” message.

“We need to continue finding creative ways to educate our community about energy-saving products and practices,” said Lou Fromm, V.P. of marketing. “The baseball game was a great opportunity to do that, and the green jerseys were a hit.”

The jerseys were raffled off at the end of the night with proceeds of more than $2,000 going to the Berks County Conservancy, the area's leading non-profit advocacy group for conservation of the environment.
