Historic Stanley Center for the Arts in Utica, N.Y., is now the proud owner of the world's largest LED chandelier. The chandelier was created by Meyda Lighting, Yorkville, N.Y. It's 35 feet in diameter, 17 feet in height, weighs more than three tons and contains 264 LEDs. Meyda says the LEDs will not have to be replaced for 50 years. The chandelier uses just 350W and has a light output equivalency of 3,500W -- roughly comparable to 35 standard 100W incandescent light bulbs. That's a 90 percent energy savings from conventional lighting sources. The chandelier was recently featured on the Discovery Channel.
