100+ lumen-per-watt LED light source

Xicato’s new XIM LED Module is a 100+ lumen-per-watt light source designed to accommodate an integrated LED driver, on-board dimming capability, self-diagnostics, sensors and connectivity. For the first time, a single intelligent module will enable luminaire manufacturers to simplify the implementation of controls and dimming for end-users and establish a true digitally enabled light platform. "We're essentially putting the power of a smartphone into the module," said Menko de Roos, CEO of Xicato. "A smartphone has about a dozen different sensors, including ambient light for the screen. With chip technologies, sensors and networking protocols, we are enabling an Internet of Lights. The ability of light sources to communicate with each other, a management system or with people in spaces sets the stage for a broad range of applications that improve a customer's experience."
