Achievements Gail Johnson Oct 1, 1998 12:00 PM Werner Electric Supply Co., Neenah, Wis., is celebrating its 50-year anniversary. The industrial automation, datacom and electrical equipment distributor started in Neenah in 1948 serving a few area paper mills with a small contractor crew. The company has grown to seven locations and in the last six years has more than tripled its number of employees to nearly 200. Lynn T. MacDonald, president, says the company's growth is a sign of the pride in the communities in which it prospers. MacDonald kicked off the next half-century with a promise to continue providing complete service, satisfaction, quality products and knowledgeable support to its customers "in each and every situation." Service Wire Co., Culloden, W.Va., is celebrating its 30th year of manufacturing and distributing wire and cable to the electrical industry. The company's president, Louis Weisberg, attributes Service Wire's consistent growth to its focus-manufacturing specialty wire and cable "with quick, dependable delivery." Summit Electric Supply, Albuquerque, N.M., was honored with the "Large Volume Gold Award" from Los Alamos National Laboratory, given to a supplier each year by Los Alamos' Business Operations division for continuous outstanding performance. Servicing two large just-in-time contracts since 1991, Summit Electric guarantees Los Alamos National Laboratory 24-hour delivery on contract items with a 97% or better service level on the electrical and wire and cable J.I.T. contracts.
