TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME!

Feb 1, 2004 12:00 PM

Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., has signed a long-term contract with the Boston Red Sox, making the company the team's official distributor of electrical supplies.

Phyllis Godwin, chairman and CEO of Granite City Electric Supply Co., was instrumental in negotiating the contract with the Boston Red Sox.

“We're very happy to be affiliated with the Red Sox,” said Godwin. “Everyone at our company looks forward to a ‘winning season’ and our partnership with the ‘Sox.’”

Starting with the 2004 season, the company will supply General Electric lights for the home field, and all electrical materials for Fenway Park.

“The Boston Red Sox are proud to be adding another fine New England-based company like Granite City Electric to our corporate partner family,” says Joe Januszewski, Red Sox director of corporate partnerships. “We have tremendous confidence in their ability to service and supply quality lighting and electrical equipment for Fenway Park, and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

Granite City was established in 1923, in Quincy, Mass., and now has 16 locations throughout New England. The company offers a selection of unique service options such as overnight delivery, 24/7 emergency service; convenient locations with extensive inventory and retail lighting showrooms. It was ranked No. 85 on Electrical Wholesaling's most recent Top 200 with $55 million in sales for 2002.
