Border States Industrial, Fargo, N.D., has been selected to manage the warehouse and logistics for the undergrounding and reliability portion of AmerenUE's “Power On” project.

AmerenUE, a utility operating company of Ameren Corporation, is investing $1 billion over the next three years to improve reliability, upgrade delivery systems, and enhance the environmental performance of its power plants in Missouri. They call the project “Power On,” which includes:

• $300 million over three years for undergrounding and reliability improvement projects.

• $135 million over three years for tree trimming.

• $84 million over three years for circuit and device inspection and repair.

• $500 million over three years to address the growing energy needs of the region by installing environmental controls on existing plants to better meet environmental standards.

PAR Electrical Contractors, Kansas City, Mo., a division of Quanta Services and one of the largest plant electrical contracting companies in North America, has been selected to manage the $300 million undergrounding and reliability improvement portion of this project.

This project will be the first of its kind for Border States where the company will be providing service but no product. Border States will operate a 30,000-square-foot warehouse with eight acres of outside storage in Wentzville, Mo., and will employ approximately 20 people at the facility.
