BREAKFAST BREAK FOR HOME DEPOT CUSTOMERS

Sep 1, 2002 12:00 PM

Looking for new ways to cater to customers, Home Depot is partnering with Dunkin' Donuts to give customers a breakfast break. With a bit of a different twist on the complimentary donuts, sweet rolls and coffee that some electrical distributors have provided customers for years, the big-box retailer will lease space to Dunkin' Donuts in three Home Depot stores.

The first store will open in Manchester, Conn. The other two stores will be in South Attleboro, Mass.; and South Plainfield, N.J., opening by the end of the year. The partnership should cut down on travel time, said John Simley, a spokesperson from Atlanta-base Home Depot. Research shows that many contractor professionals stop to pick up breakfast on the way to the job site or when picking up materials. “This just makes it a little more convenient for them,” said Simley.
