Cameron & Barkley Co. (CamBar), Charleston, S.C., agreed to acquire all outstanding capital stock of Main Electrical Equipment Co., Louisville, Ky. Main Electrical Equipment, with 1998 sales of approximately $12 million, has locations in Louisville and Lexington, Ky. "Main is a long-term, first-rate industrial company," said CamBar Executive Vice President Joel Bateman. "It (the acquisition of Main) will grow our business. We have a good industrial supply presence up there. The strength of what Main will do for us will enhance that dramatically. We can also help Main somewhat."

CamBar and Main Electrical Equipment will "make the best use" of both names in the market, Bateman said.
