Cooper Lighting Donates Products to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Jul 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Cooper Lighting, Peachtree City, Ga., donated lighting fixtures to ABC's “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to brighten a 5,000-square-foot home in Dewey, Okla.

The donation consisted of 150 Halo All-Pro 6-inch recessed downlight fixtures, which included 143 black baffle trims and seven eyeball trims. The gift went to help the White family.

Pastor John White worked at Bluestem Baptist Church and lived at the church parsonage with his wife, Danna, and five of their 10 children before suffering a fatal heart attack in April 2005. Following his death, Danna and the children had to move to make the parsonage available for the new pastor of the church. With help from members of their community and church, Danna purchased two run-down trailers. The trailers did not have heat, a working kitchen, carpet or locks on the doors, and the larger of the two trailers did not have power.

The cast and crew of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” along with friends and family, began the rebuild on Jan. 23 using various products, including Cooper Lighting's fixtures. Five days later, the White family was able to move into a state-of-the-art dream home.
