When Platt Electric Supply learned that Joe, a drug-sniffing canine in the Beaverton, Ore.-police department's K-9 unit, had died of disease, the company came to the rescue.

Platt Electric Supply paid for a new K-9 drug dog, "Trigger," and transported the dog and its new handler, Officer Dan Gill to Oregon from Napa, California, where the dog used to live. Gill spent a week getting acquainted with Trigger in California before bringing him back to Beaverton to assist in drug control and education in area schools.
