Electrician Wins a Harley No Fluke! Jul 1, 2002 12:00 PM John Fox, a sales rep at Rexel Consolidated, Bradenton, Fla., and Palmer Thornton, an electrician with Sawdy Electric, Palmetto, Fla., both got lucky in Fluke Corp.'s “Take a Test Drive” Sweepstakes. Thorton was drawn as the winner of a Harley-Davidson 2002 Softtail Deuce Motorcycle, and Fox won $1,000 cash for being the distributor sales representative Thorton nominated on his entry form. One of more than 170,000 customers that entered the contest by “test driving” eligible Fluke products at participating Fluke distributors, Thorton said that he never expected to win. “I send in for things all the time, but I've never won anything,” said Thorton. “I just went kind of numb when I heard.” Palmer has been an electrician since 1981. Sawdy Electric is a two-person firm specializing in residential and light commercial electrical work. The promotion ran from Sept. 1, 2001, through March 31, 2002. Products demonstrated included Fluke 110 and 170 Series digital multimeters, 330 Series clamp meters, 190 Series ScopeMeter, 725 multifunction process calibrator, and the i410/i1010 clamp accessory.
