Fromm Electric Supplies Green Products for Leed-Certified Building

Fromm Electric Supply, Reading, Pa., recently participated in the construction of Berks County's first LEED-certified building, a new 14,000-square-foot headquarters for the Berks County Community Foundation (BCCF). The Foundation's primary responsibility is to promote philanthropy and improve the quality of life the in the county. Fromm was responsible for specification and procurement of light fixtures, occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting, dimming controls, and high-efficiency ballast/lamp combinations. Benefits include proposed energy savings of 40 percent to 70 percent, reduced maintenance costs and increased occupant comfort/productivity.

BCCF President Kevin Murphy said, “We were really pleased to have Fromm Electric as an ally in our building project. One of our key goals is to encourage local businesses to adopt environmentally responsible practices, and Fromm is clearly committed to being a leader in the area of energy-efficient building technology.”
