Greenlee Textron Donates Tools to NYC Recovery Efforts

Dec 1, 2001 12:00 PM

Greenlee Textron, Rockford, Ill., donated more than 800 tools to aid New York Fire Department (NYFD) workers in debris-clearing efforts at the World Trade Center site. The manufacturer donated fiberglass fish tapes, voltage detectors, infrared temperature guns, heavy-duty cable cutters and demolition reciprocating blades to help ensure worker safety when removing debris.

“We (sent) nonconductive tools to enhance the safety of workers as they prepare debris to be removed from the site,” said John Green, director of marketing. “The nonconductive tools will also help to detect and avoid hidden electrical hazards.”
