HOUSING STARTS RISE 8% By Dale Funk, Contributing Editor Jan 1, 2002 12:00 PM Privately owned housing starts in November came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,645,000, 8 percent above the revised October estimate of 1,521,000 and 6 percent above the same month a year ago, according to the U.S. Bureau of the Census. Single-family housing starts nationwide in November were at a rate of 1,261,000, which is 3 percent above the revised October figure of 1,222,000.
