Allied Wire & Cable Expands to Las Vegas

Allied Wire & Cable, a wire manufacturer and distributor based in Collegeville, Pa., opened a new stocking location in Las Vegas. The new location provides the company an opportunity to improve customer service and support for West Coast customers, enabling it to offer 1-2 day shipping throughout the continental United States. The 16,000-square-foot location opened for business Dec. 1, and stocks Allied's core wire and cable items, including hookup wire, mil-spec wire and portable cord. Soon, the Vegas facility will also have the capability to perform the same major value-added functions and customization services as the Allied headquarters in Pennsylvania, including striping, dyeing, and more. These services give clients the opportunity to get their wire and cable in the exact form they need it. Managing the new facility is Rick Gaines, former warehouse manager at Allied's Pennsylvania headquarters.

Codale breaks ground on new building in Price, Utah

Codale Electric Supply, Salt Lake City, broke ground in April on a new 25,000-square foot office, warehouse and retail counter facility at 250 East 1300 South in Price, Utah. A brief groundbreaking ceremony featured Price City Mayor Joe Piccolo and Carbon County Commissioner Mike Milovich.

Codale's newest facility features 9,000 square feet of office space and 16,000 square feet of warehouse space. Construction is scheduled to be complete in Dec. 2011. Codale Electric Supply currently has 10 branch locations in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Nevada, and one affiliate company, Codale Energy Services & Supply, LLC., in Las Vegas.

“We are proud to be the only full-line electrical distributor serving Price and the surrounding area,” says Codale president Dale Holt. “This new facility will strengthen our commitment to this community as building and property owners, and will allow us to expand our support of the mining, power and gas industries that are vital to the area.”

Benning Power Electronics, a manufacturer of power-conversion systems under German-based Benning Worldwide, opened a new North American headquarters facility in Richardson, Texas. The 68,000-square-foot facility will house manufacturing lines for the company's power conversion systems, which it markets to telecommunications, material handling and distribution center, industrial equipment, data center, medical power supply and military customers. It also has a research and development lab for developing new products and customization of existing ones. Benning's previous North American headquarters was in Dallas. It more than doubled its space in the move and expects to double its 50-person workforce by 2016, said Mario Barbaresso, CEO.
