Mayer Electric Supply Co., of Birmingham, Ala., was named Electrical Distributor of the Year at the North American meeting of Affiliated Distributors (A-D) in September. Given in recognition of Mayer's overall performance in the areas of sales growth, annual planning process, and marketing excellence, the award credits each and every Mayer Electric employee, said Jim Summerlin, Mayer's president and CEO.

“If there ever was a reward recognizing the effort of a team, this is it,” said Summerlin. “I could not be more proud standing here representing the 800 associates of Mayer Electric Supply and our new Maddux Supply locations. It is through their efforts and commitment to serve our customers well that we have been able to accomplish all that we have.”

Wes Smith, Mayer's COO added, “We have really been blessed to be able to work with and represent the cream of the crop of manufacturers in our industry. The work we have done together is paying great rewards in terms of service to our customers and with that comes positive sales growth.”

Mayer Electric Supply has 50 locations located throughout the southeast, including 14 locations of Maddux Supply Co., which Mayer Electric acquired earlier this year.

Affiliated Distributors, King of Prussia, Pa., is an organization comprised of over 300 independent distributors with over 5,000 locations serving North America.
