Mayer Expands Branch in Orlando, Fla.

Oct 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Mayer Electric Supply, based in Birmingham, Ala., has completed its branch move in Orlando, Fla., to a bigger, easier-to-access location.

“We consider this step one to begin a strong growth path for the Orlando market and just another step in our plans to really be a great resource for our customers and manufacturer partners in central Florida” said Jim Summerlin, Mayer Electric's president.

The new location's 37,000 square feet allows for more inventory, improved product accessibility and a larger counter space.

Mayer Electric Supply's 2004 acquisition of Maddux Supply, Greensboro, N.C., gave Mayer a foothold in the Orlando market.

The family-owned company recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. With 56 branches in eight states throughout the Southeast and $507.2 million in 2005 revenue, Mayer Electric Supply ranked No. 15 on Electrical Wholesaling's most recent Top 200 listing.
