The board of directors of Thomas & Betts Corp. (T&B), Memphis, Tenn., elected T. Kevin Dunnigan chairman and chief executive officer, replacing Clyde R. Moore. The appointment is effective immediately. Dunnigan, who is currently a director on the T&B board, previously served as the company's chairman from 1992 to May 2000, its CEO from 1985 to 1997, and its chief operating officer from 1980 to 1985.

Just one week after Moore resigned from T&B, the company announced that three executive posts were eliminated as part of a change in the company's e-commerce strategy. The executives leaving the company are John Haluska, chief information officer; Bill Fredrick, vice president, business development; and Ken Hoover, vice president and general manager.

T&B said the elimination of the executive positions that Haluska, Fredrick and Hoover held was part of the company's initiative to redefine its e-commerce strategy by narrowing its focus on markets and products where it holds leadership positions to enhance customer service.
