NEW ENGLAND'S FIELD OF DREAMS Jun 1, 2004 12:00 PM Game time is about to get a lot brighter for New England little league and junior softball/baseball teams in one lucky community. Granite City Electric Supply Co., Quincy, Mass., along with major sponsors Hubbell, GE Lamp, Lightolier, Square D and a Boston radio station, have partnered to award a new field lighting system to one New England community. Valued at approximately $40,000, the Hubbell Sports Lighting Four Pole System includes four poles, 26 fixtures, ballasts, housings, mounting hardware and lamps. Towns register to win by submitting a one-page essay outlining why their team should shine even brighter. “This contest demonstrates our ongoing dedication to the community and organized sports for girls and boys,” said Phyllis Godwin, Granite City chairman and CEO. Glynn Electric, an electrical contractor based in Plymouth, Mass., will install the system. Other vendors involved in this project include Lutron, Kichler, Emerson Fan, Ideal, and TPI. Granite City Electric Supply, a family-owned distributor, recently partnered with the Boston Red Sox, making Granite City the official distributor of electrical supplies to the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park.
