Eclipse, Inc., Shelton, Conn., has introduced Eclipse Internet Gateway, an all-in-one hardware package that allows distributors to connect their internal computer network directly and securely to the Internet. The software product can be configured to customer specifications and acts as a host for companies' Web sites, allowing creation and publishing of Web pages, and allows wholesalers to receive and send e-mail to both internal and World Wide Web addresses. The package includes Proxy Server software, which provides a "firewall" to protect customers' internal computer networks. Distributors must have a local-area network (LAN) computer system and an account with an Internet service provider.
