As part of a five-year agreement, Philips Lighting, Somerset, N.J., has signed on as the exclusive lighting partner of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, allowing the company to link its innovative lighting technologies with the center's collection of authentic vintage spacecraft and space-related collectibles. Philips will be recognized as a corporate partner with on-site signage and will design a permanent lighting display to teach visitors about developments in lighting technology and the science of lighting. Other activities will include adding a "proud partner" designation on Philips product packaging. Larry Wilton, Philips Lighting president and CEO, says the company plans to maximize the partnership by tying in all parts of the marketing mix.

"This is an ideal vehicle for introducing consumers to the Philips brand," he says. "It provides us with countless opportunities to involve our distributors and reach the industrial/commercial community."
