Platt Electric Supply, Beaverton, Ore., presented a check for $169,608 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Dec. 18, 1998, raising its 10-year total contribution to the foundation to nearly $1 million. In its first campaign in 1988, Platt Electric Supply raised $17,000 for cystic fibrosis. This year's total is the most ever collected by the company. Chairman Harvey Platt presented the check to CF Executive Director Charlotte Governale and Kassandra Sullivan and her 15 month-old daughter Katie, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis last June.

For the past 10 years, Platt Electric's Holiday Dream campaign has raised funds for Cystic Fibrosis. The campaign includes a trip raffle, business-partner donations and proceeds from the company's Skins Golf Tournament. This year, large donors received jerseys autographed by 1998 Super Bowl MVP John Elway.

Cystic fibrosis is the number-one genetic killer of children and young adults. Currently, three employees of Platt Electric Supply have children with the disease. In an effort to heighten public awareness and help find a cure, Platt delivery trucks are painted with "We're on the road toa cure for CF...Call 1 (800) FIGHT CF for more information."
