AFCI features electronic trip indicator

This AFCI is said to be the industry's first residential branch/feeder arc fault circuit interrupter (AFCI) with a built-in electronic trip indicator. The electronic trip indicator visually alerts the contractor when a breaker has detected a fault condition, reducing troubleshooting time after the breaker has tripped. The size of a common residential circuit breaker, the AFCI is quickly installed and allows easy access to panel neutral bars. Siemens Energy & Automation

Split-bolts now include grounding and direct burial features

Direct burial and grounding features have been added to Penn-Union's S and SEL split-bolt product lines. The S and SEL series split bolt product lines now contain the same direct burial and grounding features that have been associated with the S-DB and SEL-DB series. Effective immediately, the DB series split bolts are discontinued. S and SEL split bolts will be stamped DB where applicable for easy field inspection. The UL listings and CSA certifications of the former DB split bolts are now a part of the standard S and SEL product offering, which include power, grounding and bonding, direct burial and rebar applications. Photosensor offers advanced daylighting control and easy setup

The new LightSaver LS-301 dimming photosensor offers an advance in daylight-responsive dimming with setup, commissioning and user adjustments performed via handheld remote. These features simplify the set-up process, eliminating adjustments at the photosensor and enabling the installer to observe the adjusted control response immediately. The LS-301 is a ceiling-mounted, low-voltage indoor photosensor accompanied by infrared, handheld remote controls. The photosensor features an internal photocell that reports daylight and electric light illuminance via a spectral curve that matches the photopic curve. The Watt Stopper Inc.

Noncontact high-voltage detector's audible/visual indicators warn of live conductors

The new noncontact high-voltage detector model 280HVD is designed to detect the presence of high voltage, a range of 80V to 275kV, without physical contact. A ten-position rotary switch selects the detection range. As the lightweight sensor is moved closer to the voltage-carrying conductor, its sensor head picks up the radiated electric field. Once the range threshold is reached, audible and visual indicators warn the operator of live conductors. A universal spline on the back-end facilitates attachment to any standard hot stick. AEMC

New product eliminates the mess from ceiling lighting installations

The Driller's Dust Bowl eliminates the mess that comes from drilling large diameter holes in ceilings when installing recessed light fixtures. The tool accessory is easily fitted between a drill's chuck and the cutting tool. It forms a seal at the ceiling much like a toilet plunger and encapsulates all the debris. Although created ceiling installations, it works well with a wide variety of drill bits and other cutting tools. For ceilings, all debris is contained in the bowl; for floors and walls, the debris is stopped from spreading. Driller's Dust Bowl Inc.

Projector fits into standard 4-inch housing

This recessed framing and gobo projector fits into a standard 4-inch housing. The NL-471W projector optics are positioned into a streamlined scoop that protrudes no more than 1-3/8 inches below the ceiling, while a faceplate completely conceals the inside of projector and housing. It's the only projector in its class that uses genuine optical-grade ground elements rather than standard glass. And, the position of the light source itself is precision set so the exact focal point of the lamp intersects first lens so almost no light output is lost or captured within the lens. Nora Lighting
