Gardner Bender Insulated wire stripper/cutter designed for stranded wire An insulated wire stripper/cutter for 8 AWG to 16 AWG stranded wire (Cat. No. 11049-INS) provides users with extra protection against shock from energized sources up to 1,000V. With an overall length of 7 inches, the wire stripper/cutter features five precision-ground stripping holes designed for removing insulation from stranded wire in this range. The tool also has easy-to-read gauge markings located on both sides of the tool. Shear-type cutting blades provide clean cuts, and the black-oxide finish resists corrosion. Channellock Outdoor notification products sound off in all conditions Several new outdoor products complement the company's line of notification appliances. The horn (H12/24K), horn/strobe (P1224MCK), strobe (S1224MCK), speaker (SP201K), and speaker/strobe (SP2R1224MCK) are all UL-listed for outdoor use from -40°F to 151°F. Part of the K Series, these products are all tested to the stringent requirements of UL 1638 (strobes), UL 464 (horns), and UL 1480 (speakers). These standards require that the products still operate properly after enduring a rigorous one-hour water spray test. System Sensor Test instrument detects stray voltage The Stray Voltage Detector is used to detect low stray voltage that may be present within electrically conductive sources. Users can hold the detector with a bare or gloved hand, or by using the optional extension handle. The handle creates a virtual ground by directly contacting the detector's metal tip to the potentially energized source. The company offers full 25-year warranty coverage on its premise wiring products that support PoE, multi-gigabit Ethernet and other emerging technologies. Hubbell Premise Wiring Shallow boxes fit in limited-space applications The Shallow 4-inch Square Box dimensions of 4.25 inches by 4.25 inches by 1.25 inches make it perfect for masonry-furring strip-style walls and any place with limited space. The box is classified for two-hour wall fire resistance. Two factory-installed #8 screws allow for easy mud-ring installation, and four auto/clamps eliminate the need for separate cable clamps. The Square Box features a height-site alignment guide to center the device on a reference mark. With 18 cubic inches in volume, the box accepts nine #14 AWG, eight #12 AWG or seven #10 AWG wires. Pass & Seymour/Legrand Gate and fence bonding products enhance safety These mechanical and exothermic jumpers properly bond fence posts and gates. Eritech flexible jumpers are attached via Cadweld exothermic connections to the fence post or gate. They are available in a highly flexible 2 AWG, 2/0 AWG and 4/0 AWG. Made from welding cable, the jumpers offer both conductor flexibility and strand protection. Erico Resistance tester withstands rugged use The 10A Micro-Ohmmeter Model 6250 is a rugged, low-resistance tester designed for both plant maintenance and field use. Utilizing a four-lead Kelvin method of testing, the Model 6250 offers accurate results within 0.05 percent. Resistance measurements are automatically calculated, taking into account the measurement value, ambient temperature, metal type and metal temperature co-efficient. Metal temperature can be manually entered by the operator or directly measured by the Model 6250 with an optional RTD temperature probe. Up to 1,500 measurements can be stored and printed directly to a printer or from a PC. AEMC Miniature circuit breakers designed for commercial and industrial applications The FAZ line of miniature circuit breakers protect power supplies, control power transformers, HVAC, refrigeration equipment, fluorescent lighting (to 20A) and many other applications requiring a primary protective device. Molex Home-automation devices provide touchless control of residential applications InTouch, a new line of professional, Z-Wave enabled home controls, introduces new capabilities that go above and beyond the standard Z-Wave technology products by embedding higher-level functions coordinated through the InTouch server. The server provides full two-way, real-time status of every device in the network, including legacy Z-wave devices. Applications include indoor and outdoor lighting, entry access, pool and spa functions, home theater systems, window treatments and heating and cooling. Intermatic Connectors ground copper cable in extreme conditions The Mechanical Grounding/Power Connectors line is designed for direct-burial application in earth or embedded in concrete. The connectors are made of high copper-content alloys, and use a nut-and-bolt design to connect copper cable to many applications. To ensure maximum performance under the most extreme environmental conditions, the company says it uses only the finest high-copper alloys. FCI Burndy Chopsaw offers increased power for metal-cutting applications This recently upgraded 14-inch chop saw (D28700) offers contractors that need to cut pipe and metal increased power, cutting capacity and comfort. The D28700 is equipped with a 15A, 4 horsepower motor, providing end users with increased power. Additionally, the 14-inch chop saw has the capacity to cut 4 1/2-inch round pipe and 4 1/2-inch by 5 1/8-inch rectangular pipe. For increased portability, the D28700 weighs only 35 pounds, making it easy to transport from job site to job site. DeWalt Ultra-compact drill/driver works in tight spots The new Litheon 10.8V I-Driver (PS10), offers a five-position 90-degree articulating head to access the tightest work spaces. The drill/driver can drive 100 3-inch screws per charge and is capable of drilling 1/2-inch diameter holes. Users simply adjust the head with the click of a button to the most comfortable and efficient position to work between studs, behind fixtures, near pipes, next to ductwork and more. A Clic-change bit holder also makes 1/4-inch hex shank bits quick and easy to switch out. Bosch Tools Wall switch occupancy sensors offer state-of-the-art lighting control The new LightHawk wall switch occupancy sensors utilize state-of-the-art sensor technology and are available in a variety of models: passive infrared, ultrasonic, and multi-technology (passive infrared and ultrasonic). The sensors feature patented IntellADAPT technology that continuously analyzes its environment and self-adapts, eliminating the need for manual sensitivity and timer adjustments during installation as well as over the life of the product. IntellADAPT provides true maintenance-free operation. Other features include automatic on/off or manual on/automatic off, and a built-in photo sensor for automatic daylight harvesting. Hubbell Building Automation Meter analyzes power in industrial applications The configurable design of the Encore Series allows users to specify the right instrumentation configuration for their specific application. Users have their choice of voltage, current and data-acquisition modules to build from one to four virtual instruments in a single, compact, cost-effective format. By combining four modules in one instrument for applications that previously required two or more instruments, users will save money, prevent integration aggravation and gain physical space. The software provides a user-friendly Web browser environment for entire systems and provides advanced trending, data analysis and reporting. Dranetz-BMI Insulation testers offer increased functionality for measurements in industrial environments A new product line of 5kV and 10kV insulation testers offers three analog/digital models. The MIT510 base model has five preprogrammed test voltages: 250V, 500V, 1,000V, 2,500V and 5,000V. The MIT520 includes all the capability of the MIT510 plus the ability to step up the voltage in 10V increments from 50V to 1,000V and in 25V increments beyond 1,000V. The MIT1020 includes pass/fail alarm and all the capability of the MIT520 plus a 10,000V range. Megger Security devices protect utility meters As meters become more sophisticated, keeping them secure is becoming more important. To help meet the needs of utilities, co-ops and contractors, Brooks Utility Products Group is expanding its line of high-security meter security devices. The I-3 and I-4 Series feature high-security, stainless-steel barrel locks; and weather seals for protection against bugs, dirt and debris. Brooks Utility Products Group Lamps save energy in nondimming applications The Spiral PAR 38 and Spiral PAR 30 can be used in the same nondimming applications as incandescent PARs while lasting four times as long. Spiral PARs can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. The lamps have an 8,000-hour life, which can reduce maintenance and replacement costs by up to 75 percent. Spiral PAR lamps have a bright white light that makes them perfect for displays or for superior general lighting. Litetronics Disconnect installation tool offers safety features The Sta-Kon Disconnect Installation Tool helps protect installers' hands and eliminates manual installation. With both ends slotted to fit disconnect terminals ranging from 22 AWG to 10 AWG, the tool is channeled to protect wires crimped to the disconnect terminals. Each end of the tool includes color-coded dots that correspond to the color-coding of disconnect terminals: on one end, red and blue dots correspond to red and blue male and female disconnect terminals; on the other end, yellow dots correspond to yellow disconnect terminals. Once the end of the tool is matched to the disconnect terminal, the installer only needs to push down on the tool to install the terminal. Thomas & Betts UPS products backup telecommunications applications Two new UPS products are now available to backup computer-based LAN and WAN systems, industrial control systems, telecommunications equipment, and laboratory equipment operating in harsh power environments. The SG Series 5 and 6kVA UPS Plus feature a galvanically isolated input of either 120V AC or 230V AC and an output of 208/220/230/240V AC. The models are designed to provide a higher level of protection in locations with severe power problems. Falcon Electric Fixture offers nonglare light in hazardous locations The Wallmaster wall pack luminaire meets the special requirements of Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations, adding an enclosed and gasketed design that inhibits explosive vapors from entering. Class I, Division 2 areas are found in petrochemical refineries, chemical-processing plants, fueling stations, utilities and other facilities where flammable vapors or gases could exist under abnormal conditions. Because of its heavy-duty construction, this fixture is equally suitable for lighting nonhazardous environments subject to extreme weather or corrosive chemicals, such as marinas, building perimeters, outdoor storage and loading docks. Appleton/EGS Portable GFCI protects up to three tools This portable in-line, triple-tap ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) has an easy-to-manage 2-foot cable and a heavy-duty design that withstands the rigors of outdoor construction sites and harsh industrial environments. The GFCI is 120V/15A rated with a manual reset, making it ideal for use with up to three power tools, such as drills, saws, sanders and sprayers.
