P&S Revs Plugtail Marketing

Building on its PlugTail wiring device line introduced in 2004, Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), Syracuse, N.Y., recently expanded the product line to serve an even broader range of commercial construction installations: health care, education and institution, retail and office, hospitality, multiple dwelling and more.

To generate awareness and demand, P&S has launched an integrated marketing campaign with various initiatives to reach distributors, contractors and specifiers.

To help distributors generate demand, P&S developed the following free promotional items with a stocking order of $1,500 or more, including at least 400 PlugTail connectors: point-of-purchase animated dangler, which shows termination in an animated sequence, a sure attention-getter in counter areas; a CD featuring a new P&S PlugTail video, new sales literature and new submittal sheets; a sample/demo box with P&S PlugTail connector and hospital grade receptacle; 20 PlugTail family product brochures to highlight the breadth of the line; 100 pocket flyers with a plexi holder for the counter area; five PlugTail T-shirts for counter salespeople; and a secret promo code for additional ElecTech credits upon completion of the new PlugTail ElecTech course.

“These promotional items are sure to create a buzz,” said Scott Bausch, product manager for P&S. “Contractors can hold the product in their hands and test it out themselves.”
