Siemens opens new facility to increase busway output Douglas Chandler Jan 1, 1999 12:00 PM Inspired by rising exports of busway products, Siemens Energy & Automation Inc., Alpharetta, Ga., opened an 80,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility in the Cherokee Springs area of Spartanburg, S.C. The plant will make power and lighting panels for commercial construction and other markets. The renovated facility in Cherokee Springs is 12 miles from Siemens' busway manufacturing plant in Roebuck, where the panels were previously made. Moving production to Cherokee Springs allows Siemens to dedicate the Roebuck facility entirely to busway products, which have seen a strong increase in worldwide sales in recent years, said a company spokesperson.
