Selected by a committee of editors from EC&M and Electrical Wholesaling magazines, co-sponsors of the Signature Award program, the winners were honored at the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) annual meeting in May. And, the winners were: 2002 Electrical Professional: Walt Czyrnik, executive director of the Mid-South Independent Electrical Contractors Inc., Bartlett, Tenn. Walt Czyrnik's has been the executive director of the Mid-South Independent Electrical Contractors since October 2000. Czyrnik's philosophy of “treat the member like a customer” proves itself with a 12-month membership increase of 40 percent. The judges selected Guarantee Electrical Co. as the Electrical Company of the Year based on its many technical and construction developments as well as an admirable list of community service projects. Now more than a century old, Guarantee began computerized estimating more than 20 years ago and had the first CAD unit in the Midwest.
