Springfield, Mo.-based SMC Electric Supply will relocate its branch in Cape Girardeau, Mo., to a larger facility. The company has purchased a building with 26,650-square feet of warehouse as well as more than 4,700 square feet of additional space that SMC will remodel into a parts counter, product showroom, training area and offices.

Although SMC already has a Cape Girardeau location, the newly acquired warehouse and showroom will allow the company to expand its product inventory and use the facility as a regional distribution center for its other branches. The company also recently opened a new branch in Poplar Bluff, Mo. SMC has 10 electrical distribution operations in Missouri and Kansas.
