Summit Electric Hosts Giveaway Events

Jul 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Summit Electric Supply recently hosted two “Wild Ride” giveaway events — one at its Gonzales, La., service center and one at its Corpus Christi, Texas, branch. Both included food, prizes and all terrain vehicle (ATV) giveaways.

This was the first event the Gonzales service center had hosted. Attendees included Gonzales Mayor Johnny Berthelot and Fire Chief Butch Browning. The event featured a shrimp boil and jambalaya. Door prizes were given away every half-hour leading up to the final drawing for the 2005 Yamaha Bruin ATV, which was taken home by Jana Chataginer of Turner Electric.

“We had about 300 people attend our first-ever open house,” said Service Center Leader Damain Kerek.

This was the second annual open house at Summit's Corpus Christi location. With 150 returning and new customers, vendors and manufacturer representatives in attendance, the event featured a catfish dinner and door prizes given away every half-hour. The “Wild Ride” ATV giveaway went to Mark Yaws of Mercer Controls, who took home a 2005 Arctic Cat ATV.

Key vendor sponsors at the events included Ideal, Cutler-Hammer, Hoffman, Sylvania, Ferraz-Shawmut, 3M, Plasti-Bond, FCI Burndy, Weidmuller, Hubbell Wiring Devices, Pass & Seymour, Cooper Crouse Hinds, Thomas & Betts, Dottie, Panduit, Rack-A-Tiers, Southwire, Klein and Woodhead.

Headquartered in Albuquerque, N.M., Summit Electric Supply currently owns and operates 20 service centers throughout the Southwest and Gulf Coast. It was ranked No. 27 on Electrical Wholesaling's most recent “Top 200.”
