Sylvania NABS Summit's Top MVP Award Mar 1, 2006 12:00 PM Cheered on by cheerleaders from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Sylvania was named Vendor of the Year at Summit Electric Supply's first vendor recognition and MVP (most valuable partner) awards ceremony. The event was held Jan. 5 at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio. In addition to taking the top prize, Sylvania was also honored as Technology MVP for its use of technology to increase efficiency, decrease costs and drive sales. Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Syracuse, N.Y, took honors in three categories, including Best New Product of 2005 (Plug Tail), General and Administrative MVP, and Sales Support MVP. Thomas & Betts, Memphis, Tenn., was named Purchasing and Logistics MVP for best handling incoming purchase orders and consistently having products available to pack and ship in a timely manner. Ideal Industries Inc., Sycamore, Ill., won the Marketing MVP Award for outstanding marketing programs and support. And, Texas Lighting Sales was named Rep of the Year for representing manufacturers and teaming with Summit on a local level to provide training, support and value to Summit's branch locations. The ceremony was attended by 115 Summit associates, including account managers, the executive team and all 19 service center leaders. Summit was honored to have 100 of their key vendor partners and representatives in attendance as well.
