US Electrical Services LLC (USESI), Exton, Pa., plans to expand in Massachusetts with the purchase of 80-employee Hampden/Zimmerman Electric Supply Co., Springfield, Mass., and in Atlanta, with the purchases of Danlar Lighting, Conyers, Ga., and Lade Electric Supply Inc., Tucker, Ga. Danlar and Lade would operate as one company following their expected closing this month. At press time, the purchase of Hampden/Zimmerman was also expected to close this month.

Founded in the 1930s, Hampden/Zimmerman Electric has three locations in central and western Massachusetts. In 1972, current owner Robert (Toby) Sanborn purchased Hampden Electric Supply and over the years added M.W. Zimmerman Electric Supply and Bland Electric Supply to his business.

Danlar Lighting has 20 employees and approximately $20 million in sales. With two locations and more than 60,000 square feet of warehousing, Lade Electric Supply has been serving the greater Atlanta market for 30-plus years. The initial focus of the combined Lade and Danlar operations will be on metropolitan Atlanta, but it may expand into other parts of the state, said USESI's Ellis Thompson, president of USESI's Southeast region.
