Expanding into northern New England, NESCO/Needham Electric Supply Corp., Canton, Mass., acquired Yankee Electric Supply.

Yankee Electric Supply is headquartered in Winooski, Vt., with branch locations in Winooski and Morrisville, Vt., and in Lebanon and Woodsville, N.H. Both Vermont locations also have lighting showrooms. Yankee Electric Supply will continue to operate under its name as “A Division of NESCO, Needham Electric Supply.”

Founded in 1985, Yankee Electric Supply is a family-owned and operated electrical distributor serving contractors, industrial and commercial accounts, and the general public in Vermont and New Hampshire.

“For the past year, NESCO has been actively researching opportunities to expand into northern New England,” said Joseph A. Cincotta, CEO of NESCO. “Yankee Electric Supply, also a family-owned business, was the right company to join forces with to achieve this goal.”

NESCO and Yankee Electric will now have 150 associates and 12 locations throughout the New England region. NESCO ranks as the nation's 102nd biggest electrical distributor, according to Electrical Wholesaling's 2007 listing of the Top 200.
