Eck Supply, which ranked #35 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2015 Top 200 list of electrical distributors based on 2014 revenues, will become part of Sonepar USA’s New England/Mid-Atlantic region, led by Don Block.

Sonepar USA recently announced that it has purchased Eck Supply Co., Richmond, Va., a 20-location regional electrical distributor serving Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Founded in 1955, Eck Supply is a family-owned business in its third generation. Over that time it has grown from a single location in Richmond to now include multiple locations throughout the Southeast.

Eck Supply, which ranked #35 on Electrical Wholesaling’s 2015 Top 200 list of electrical distributors based on 2014 revenues, will become part of Sonepar USA’s New England/Mid-Atlantic region, led by Don Block. The Electrical Wholesaling ranking didn’t include an actual sales figure for Eck, but its placement puts its 2014 sales in the $218 million to $232 million range.

Halsey Cook, president of Sonepar USA, said, “Eck Supply helps us build density in the Virginia market, and provides us with an opportunity to add coverage and create new solutions with our core electrical business in the Carolinas.”

Eck Supply sold its Lynchburg, Va., branch to Raleigh, N.C.-based Electrical Equipment Co. (EECO), earlier this year. The Lynchburg location carries the Rockwell Automation franchise in the territory adjacent to EECO in Virginia.
