Todd and Kurt Nelson of Nelson and Associates, Santa Fe Springs, Calif., have been honored with Electrical Wholesaling's 2005 GEM Award for independent manufacturers' reps. The award was established in 1990 in honor of George Ganzenmuller, the magazine's chief editor for 30-plus years, to recognize reps whose business careers exemplify the integrity and fairness that George stood for during his years in the electrical industry. The Nelson brothers received the award at the annual conference of the National Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association in New York on Feb. 19. In 1995, the Nelson brothers received the GEM Rising Star Award. They are the only reps to ever win both the GEM Rising Star and GEM awards.

This year's GEM Rising Star Award is Jamey Yore, Electrical Marketing Services. The GEM Rising Star Award for independent manufacturers rep was established to recognize those industry executives whose early careers and industry contributions show promise of leadership and insight and who have already demonstrated the determination to excel.

It's the first time that a father and son have won GEM Awards. Jamey's father, Joe Yore, won the GEM Award in 2001.
