Americas' SAP Users' Group (ASUG) presented Border States (BSE), Fargo, N.D., with the 2008 Impact Award in the Large Enterprise category. The award recognizes members who have transformed their organizations and achieved substantial value through their use of SAP solutions and their experience with ASUG. The award is granted to three ASUG member companies, one from each of the following categories: Large Enterprise (over $500 million in annual revenue); Small to Medium Enterprise (less than $500 million in annual revenue); and Public Sector.

“SAP provided BSE with the tools to automate many functions, allowing us to reduce errors, process transactions in a more timely manner, and better utilize personnel,” says Greg Thrall, BSE's senior vice president — Operations and Information Technology. “As markets become more volatile and service agreements more intense, SAP has helped BSE become more efficient and innovative by giving us the flexibility to customize solutions and meet the changing needs of customers.”

ASUG represents more than 1,750 organizations and 50,000 individual members. Other winners of the award include Monsanto Company, City of Tacoma, and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR).

“It is an honor and a privilege for a company our size to be selected among the very large enterprises for the ASUG Impact Award. Receiving this award acknowledges the incredible work our employee-owners do day in and day out using SAP,” says Tammy Miller, CEO of Border States. “SAP has been a solid platform for our growth, enables us to quickly tailor solutions for our customers, and has enhanced shareholder value. I am very pleased with our effective use of SAP, and I am tremendously proud of this accomplishment.”
